All hardware and lugs were removed, cleaned and polished. They were also lined with black foam paper to eliminate any unwanted squeaks. The drums themselves made of Philippine Mahogany and the insides soaked up about half a bottle of Teak-Oil before being sprayed with a light coat of clear-coat semi-gloss finish. The outsides of the drums were treated for any minor cracks and delamination around the edges and then washed/waxed/buffed adfinium. The drum batter head bearing edges were all in good shape but were sanded sealed and cleaned up. There were no major issues with the mounting hardware aside from needing some polish and elbow grease. A minor repair was made to a smaller crack on the 12" tom and isn't noticeable unless being scrutinized. Also a small piece of the bass drum hoop wrap was missing and replaced with a like replacement (not visible is under bass drum hoop facing the floor). There are also some marks from where the bass pedal attaches and from normal wear and tear over the past 50 or so years.

I wish I could keep it, but Violin

Sounds like someone's been lurking around the forum for a while. Nice job - how do they sound? How's the discoloration of the wrap? I've had a few of these, and have found the blue sparkle to be notoriously unstable.

Must state, that it's a nice one (although 'competition' to Star ;) ).

Question conc. the neighbourhood: could you resist playing it even for a moment - apparently in the evening? Excited

To answer questions:

-Located in Denver, CO. Want to get $400 out of the deal considering the hardware and cymbals are coming with the kit.

- Top and bottom rings on the 12" & 13" toms, floor tom and bass were unfinished with no rings.

- First google search for Whitehall led me here and I found the search function and restoration forum a great help.

- Sound is surprisingly decent borderline good. The drums with new heads sound better than the ones with original heads. The bass pedal with some black foam matting tucked into a few key places for some squeaking issues have made it one of the most responsive and fast moving pedals I've used vintage wise, beats out the worst few intro pedals from guitar center with ease. Hi-hat stand replacement wins easily compared with the original. Cymbals have a good ring and haven't been abused or dropped.

- Some fading was apparent with hardware removed. Less of an issue with it all back on.
