My Snare drum collection Last viewed: 7 hours ago

It's not much and it's not all vintage but I think I'm getting the hang of it.

My absolute favorite is my 1960 Ludwig pioneer. I play it more than any other. In the metal category, the Slingerland Gene Krupa Sound King Chrome over Brass is the overwhelming winner. I played the Supraphonic last night for the first time and I absolutely hated it. LOL

I'm still trying to clear up some dates and information but attached is the list so far.

That is one amazing collection!!!! How did you get so many vintage snare drums???

Can you post a clear pic of your 1960 Ludwig Pioneer?

Again, congrats on your amazing collection.

What a snare-hog. Too bad there's only a Gretsch Catalina in there. Your collection is quite lop-sided, without the presence of few vintage Gretsch 10-luggers (kidding, of course). Very nice rack system, too.

Yeah, I have been on the lookout for some Gretsch snares to fill in the gaps. LOL

I wish I could display all my vintage sets at one time like this. Simply no room in my house big enough for that.

@Retro: There's a closeup pic of the snare in this thread http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=12181

The first post has a before pic and the last post has an after pic.

Thanks for all the comments.

Wow! Cool collection of drums! I don't have that many snare drums, but I would like to build some kind of rack like that to store the ones I do have.
