Hardware looks 80's vintage maybe? Check the catalog scans here. Nice looking kit. Slingerland has always been a fav of mine too.

That is an interesting kit. Hardware is late in the game for Slingerland as is an 8" tom. Not so sure what we are seeing with a vertical grained 12" tom as I am not aware of Slingerland ever laying shells up like that. That and the fact that the 12" doesn't have Slingerland "stick saver" rims leads me to believe that is possibly an MIJ knock off. The bass drum claws are suspect as well. Since the bass drum has the large lugs it probably has always been a bass drum.

Regardless, you love them and that is the most important thing. Congratulations. I like Slingerland drums as well.

If the badges don't say USA on them then you are playing an import/MIT type kit with Slingerland badges---same as any other cheap import kit. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news in terms of them not being "real" slingerland drums (maybe they are Music Yo era?..thats better than the 80's imports)...but if you like the way they sound then thats all that really matters! Play em and enjoy!

After another look, Id say Music Yo era...which I think is late 90's/early 2000s. I had a 10 lug Artist Model snare from that era and it sounded great. Still not real USA Slingerland, but nice sounding drums at any rate!
