My Christmas present to me... Last viewed: 7 hours ago

MIKEY777: Thanks for sharing some GOOD news with us. We've certainly been getting our share of bad news, with all the recent events going on throughout the country. You're proof that the act of giving is truly far more rewarding than the act of receiving.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and yours!:Santa:

Mikey, I gave a CB700 kit away this year to a family that couldn't afford a kit for their son....but that was only ONE! What a wonderful thing you do. You are truly blessed. Great post to wake up to.

Wow. That is a special thing you do, "Santa777". How selfless. This story really touched me.

Well then-it is said "everything you do will come back to you X-7"...man,where are you going to put all those drums?I must say that it is hard to find good stories, but this is a good story. You need to post those pictures sent by the parents,if they ever want to speak to you again...Burger Kin

I just joined this forum and this is the first post I read. I'm glad I did. This is great and reminds me of how I received my first set. I knew my Mom and Dad couldn't afford it back then but on Christmas day there was a new set of drums waiting for me. Later on in life my Mom told me that they'd met this drummer when they were out one night and told him that I wanted to play drums. He refurbished a set he had and brought it over late Christmas Eve after I'd gone to bed. The next day there it was and I'll never forget how happy I was that morning. It changed my life and I don't know where I'd be if that guy hadn't played Santa that night. Many times since I wished I could find him and let him know how much it had meant to me.

I live in Arizona now, but I grew up in Orange County, CA. I get over there about once a year now. Next time I come over I want to meet you and buy you dinner. Sort of a pay back for what a good hearted person did for me. The world needs more guys like you Mikey777. God bless you and have a great New Year!!

Huh! What, I can't hear you! D' Drummer

Like this year's Guitar Center commercial.

Scene - Young kid playing drums.

Kid stops playing.

"Thanks Mom and Dad for NOT getting me that video game."

Kid starts playing again.

Great job, Mikey!

Thanks Mikey for the inspiration !!

Vintagemore2000 and myself have been talking since your post of getting together to do something similar here in our town.

We are fortunate to have in our community a non-profit music organization that sponsors under-served kids with free lessons and instruments.

We might go that direction, or sponsor a kid or two ourselves through one of the churches or schools in our community.

Over the years I've read here of several of our members taking up the torch of advocating for assistance for kids in their respective communities.

It's always great to hear those stories.... so many kids have needs and dreams that cannot come to pass for them without a little help from others !!

Anyhow, thanks again for the inspiration !!
