The black plastic piece that goes on Pearl-style steel BD hoops that you clamp the pedal to. Why didn't they rivet that on or something...
Most iconic or recognizable drum parts II Last viewed: 14 hours ago
Think of it this way ....
When you see a drum/kit from 50-100 feet away, what part/parts are immediately going to tell you the manufacturer?
Ludwig - Double Tom Mount, Bowtie Lugs
Rogers - Swivo-matic Hardware
Gretsch - Round Badge, Stop Sign Badge, Cast Hoops
Slingerland - Set-o-matic Tom Mount, Stick-saver Hoops
Camco - Round Lugs
Premier - Art Deco Lugs

Tim,
If the criteria is recognition from 50-100 feet away, I'd have to go with bass drum reso heads:

Ludwig Speed King
That odd shaped Trixon bass drum
“I did not trip and fall. I attacked the floor and I believe I am winning.”
Reckon I'd spot a Trixon Speedfire kit from afar...
and a Dynasonic Snare rail from not so far..
Cheers

Ha. :) I agree and was on the fence about adding reso heads, but those are all missing from our time in the mid to late 70's. DOH
Drum sticks. You know what they are and what they do. They can be used on all makes and models plus cymbals. Everybody has some.
