Modern, Low-E glass, Sunlight, and Vintage Drums Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Does anyone know if Low-E glass eliminates the need to be cautious with vintage drums and direct sunlight?

I still throw a sheet over my kit to keep it out of the sun, but these windows are supposed to eliminate a lot of the components of light that fade carpets, floors, etc according to their ads.

Also, does the sheet need to be totally opaque (aka black) vs. a lighter sheet to do any good? Thanks.

I would keep putting the sheet over your drums anyways...It will help keep the dust off of them at least!! I wouldn`t use a dark colored sheet if possible because it will absorb more light and heat from the sun...
