I dunno'. I'm pretty sure the guy who bought the Ludwig kit for $100 got the score of the month. This pales in comparison. Sorry.

I wouldn't worry too much. UFiPs like that come up as shops are clearing old stock. Watch for sales on all Natural series which don't have RED labels (the new thinner ones).

Generally UFiP crashes and splashes seem to please most people's ears. I guess that's where the Rotocasting as a production technique really stands out. Great bells on smaller diameter cymbals.

UFiP rides are also nice, and at their best at the lighter end of the weight range if you ask me. That one at 2200g will be a ping-meister. If you want that it's a fine weight for a UFiP 20". By comparison, my 20" which is otherwise similar (but a bit older) is 1836g. And my much older ones are a svelte 1725g and 1675g. Dark and mysterious. My 14" hats? 750g and 800g.

They don't make 'em like that anymore, although UFiP have decided to lighten up the Natural series which is a good move in my book since Jazz players like 'em light.

They also lightened up their Bionic line as well. They were already about 5% lighter than comparable Z3 cymbals from Zildjian, which would probably be the closest point of reference. Now the new ones (with the blue label) are about another 5% thinner, making them much more musical, while retaining their bombastic edge.

There are lots of deals out there that vary from week to week. Doesn't seem to be so many to choose from this week, but that can change at any time.
