all the best for a full and speedy recovery Mike, Just had a friend of ours roll his truck 4 times because of a deer the boy was just 17 and is ok because of his seat belt but this type of accident happens here alot there are deer everywhere
the best advice for anyone in deer country hit them head on never swerve to avoid one as the results can be worse than a banged up car ...
hey guys
i was searching for some posts and ran across this one...
i guess i just wanted to give you an update. i was actually kinda shocked to read this thread and even more shocked to see that i had responded to it. i have no recollection of it. you can tell by my earlier post that i was pretty doped up.kinda embarrasing....
thank you john for posting it initially. i was hurt pretty bad. it could have been a lot worse though and i am thankful. i usually ride my harley for daily transportation year round. its been crazy not being able to ride or drive a vehicle. i still can't sleep in a bed. using one of these electric recliners to sleep in.
my doctors signed off on me this past week or so as did my therapist. my physical therapist was great and helped me work through this nicely. i still hurt. but,i am doing more and more each day. i drove for the first time on friday. and,i rode my road king on saturday with my wife. had to pull the handlebars back towards me to do so. but it worked!
thanks for all of your comments and support. it means a lot. it was an emotional struggle to get through this mess. my dad, wife and daughter were all my rocks. i rehabbed a couple of snares during this time with one hand and it really helped my morale. have started playing a couple of tunes a day for the last week or so on the skins and it has helped as well.
anyway-sorry for the long post. i'm doing better each day. thank you all again...
mike
Haha, your first reply looked very similar to some emails I sent off while I was recovering from heart surgery a few months back. Kind of tough not to laugh at yourself in these vulnerable situations sometimes. Good 'ol meds.
Anyways, hope all is well and you get back to normal routine soon enough!
Glad you're on the mend big-guy! Keep in there wailing... 'what doesn't kill you - only makes you stronger!'
John
