Mid-1930s Slingerland Professional Last viewed: 21 hours ago

Hi,

I recently acquired a mid-1930s Slingerland Professional.

It appears to be thin-wall mahogany 6.5 x 14, WMP (a section of the wrap is missing), in-round and the bearing edges are very clean.

The badge was brutalized, and has a non-era correct 3-hole strainer.

Can anyone tell how common Slingerland's thin shell drums are compared to the thicker shelled maple drums?

How does the sound compare?

Thank you for the help.

I think the 1930's mahogany shells will give you a softer and warmer tone than a hard solid maple shell.

Hi and thank you!

One more question.

If the drum is in good shape, can you tell me how the drum might compare in value, to the thicker single-ply maple shells?

Just trying to get an idea of what price to offer the drum. were I to sell it.

Thank you again!
