Ludwig transition badge toms Last viewed: 9 hours ago

Hi guys,

I just got a 13" and 16" floor tom, both blue oyster shell transition badge drums. I thought I'd try to sell them, but prices seem all over the place.

The tom has some severe snare rash and pitting on the rims, but both drums are otherwise in great shape. The tom tuned up nicely, very warm.

I'm working on the floor tuning now.

Just wanted to get any thoughts on value, etc..

Both are dated May 12, 1960.

Thanks!

JB

That is a strange place for the badge, it is on a panel that has one of the floor legs and is near the top of the drum instead of the middle like they were from 65 on.

Try posting from a desktop or laptop. Phones and even iPads always give me issues.

Can we see better pics of both drums? The insides too. This will tell us a lot. Interested in these.

Those transition badge drums are consistently some of the best sounding drums ever made by Ludwig. Rare birds in that wrap. I own a dozen kits, but I've been playing a transition badge kit for the last year or more.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Hey John,

Yeah, they sound great. I just put new heads on, nothing else, and they sound great. I'm guessing finding a kick is going to be tough.
