Thanks for all of the input. I was thinking that I could get enough to get maybe a Pearl Reference or DW 5 piece (not so small after all), but it sounds like I would need to throw some more money at it. I am fond of these, spent a lot of time together, and they play well.... I especially like the 16x18 floor tom. I'm leaning toward keeping them for now and getting a play out kit. I saw a Gretsch maple Reference 5 piece kit (the one with the "free" 8" tom) for $899. Maybe I'll pick that up...I have lot's of extra hardware...Pearl stands, etc. If I ever do sell the Ludwigs, I'll give people on this forum first crack.....

I have A DW collector series kit, and many Vintage Ludwig kits I prefer them to the DW's. I think your make the right decision.
