I'd be curious to know how the inner wrap affects the tone of these drums. Anybody have any insight into this?
ludwig standards wow look at these!! Last viewed: 17 hours ago
Good question. I've never heard one of these played before.
I have the 5-pc, Lemon Strada kit, Love It! I too wonder how the wrap effects the tone. I saw the Blue Sparkle go for $1200 and felt I hit the Lottery with my kit (although it's not going anywhere), nice to know these will go up in value.

Concerning the seller, he has just changed from "counterhoop" to "counterhoopvintage". He's got so much stuff for sale at incredibly over-inflated prices. Is it any wonder why much of what he has never sells?!! I wonder how much he spends just to keep re-listing every thing? Forgive my ranting about this seller!
I'm with you on that brother......he still has to pay a listing fee.
As far as "counterhoopvintage" or "stewy" as he was known. I think he has hired someone from So. Cal. to sell his wares, because he used to be in North Dakota, or he moved all those drums. I'm thinking he hired someone, he had an ad on another forum looking to hire somebody.
Lastly, he is now posting on Craigslist in my area. I know this because I answered an ad and got a reply with a link to his listing. His prices are way out there, must have a rich wife or a sugar somebody.
Thats a nice kit, but it limits what kind of music you can play.
A lounge act or jazz trio or something would work fine, but any kind of heavy rock and roll? I dont think those timbale one headed half-toms are gonna do the trick!!
But......I bet you he does sell it at his price...SOMEONE out there wants that exact set.
Sorry to come across like a stick in the mud (again) but....
I believe it is incorrect to say that this kit is overpriced. It's the only one I've ever seen in this finish and it's in really nice shape. Has anyone else ever seen another kit like it? -I mean the model and the finish together? It's rare and rare means that someone with the money will buy it with no remorse or even a thought about it being "overpriced".
In a utilitarian sense, the kit might not be very applicable to what working drummers want to play onstage....but so what? That kit would be a blast to mess around with. Anyone disagree? :)
I just had a sofa reupholstered. $4,000.00!!!! Now THAT'S overpriced. Life is full of things that are either "too expensive" or "not expensive enough" -depending on which side of the fence one sits. I'm constantly hopping between the two sides. Feast or famine....That's life. :2Cents:
People can and should valuate their own stuff. Start at 100 billion dollars and work down from there! ;)
Seriously cool drum set. I hope whoever gets it, LOVES it! (I would!)

really neat kit. were other ludwigs, or other drum brands, available with the interior wrapped? Looks really cool
I love it and think it's worth every penny. Never seen one or even knew they existed. Go price a new 'traveler' kit, which will cost approximately half as much, but look like a cheap toy. Very cool.

See my earlier post. Yep, those would be far too cool to drool over, but I never have liked timbales... Man, 4K for a couch recover? Do you sit on it or just look at it? :D

I don't even look at it! It's expensive because it's a kind of mohair that had to be special ordered.
