Ludwig Snare pricing help please Last viewed: 2 days ago

Loading...

I have two Ludwig Snare Drums that I need help pricing and they are hard to find on the web. First on is a 90th anniversary top hat and cane signed by William Ludwig II #17 of 90 made. The second is a millenium snare # 4 or 100 made. both have cases, tuning keys and certificate. Need to find a good home for these snare drums!! Thinking about contacting places like Hard Rock with the signed top hat and cane???? Any ideas

I'm thinking of 4,000 for the signed top hat and cane. Perhaps 3,000 for the millenium since it is close to #1 made???? AM i off my rocker or in the ball park

Thanks for your help in advance!!

... Rocker... IMHO...

Here's a TH&C snare with a B.I.N. of US $1,299.99 and it's a 6.5" (your's looks like 5" but it's hard to tell with the small pic you posted)

DF - Because of the drums you're offering, you're in a rarified atmosphere. Limited essentially to the hard-core collectors demographic. In this instance, correct pricing is critical to 'finding the right guy' who will be willing to pull the trigger at your asking price.

Do as much research as you can at ebay using the, 'Search Completed Auctions' feature that they offer. Find a current 'fair market price' average for your items and go from there. At least your asking prices will be in line with current -actual- selling prices for the items.

You also will be well served to put a call into Maxwell's Vintage Drums in New York city. They will give you a useable ball-park figure to work with. It's their business to know.

Best of luck to you. Great instruments.

John

Too many great drums to list here!
