I think another sure way to tell the difference between an old B/O (rounded corner) badge and a new reissue one is that the new ones have that black border surrounding the serial number and the old ones don't.

The new ones also have that odd holographic image of Dick Gerlach just inside the round circle of the letter "G" at the end of "Ludwig".
