Ludwig Rail Consollette

Loading...

I am having a terrible time with my ( new to me ) vintage rail. Old telephone dial type.

I just can't adjust it so the tom clears the bass drum and, has the right angle.

Anybody out there can help?

Happy new year to all.

What is it about your positioning requirements that are different from most of the vintage drum players with the same rail consolette? Maybe you might consider altering your technique to make it more comfortable?

You might also consider getting a snare drum stand and mounting the tom in that...but that's going to have even more limitations as far as positioning goes.

Maybe if you could post a picture of just exactly how you're wanting to set the drums up, we could see what you're up against.

If it's a shorty, I always have the same problem. I swap them all out for the longer arm style.

I think Ludwig used the longer arms. My problem is usually on my Slingerlands.

Plus, if it's a "tongue and groove" style, make sure it's a tight fit. Sometimes the mounts get a little bent and sloppy. Every little bit makes a difference (I have found).

Post a pic.

Thanks for the info. I have it sorted. But whilst I am here I am looking for an orphan 20" or 22" BDP Classic bass drum. I have checked all the usual sites, but, no joy.

I am " stuck" with a Club Date 1967 in good condition.

Anybody out there with one to sell?

Thanks.
