Ludwig drummer magazine Last viewed: 2 days ago

Hi there,

with my last acquisition that is on its way from the States to Germany I have a complete collection of Ludwig's drummer magazine form 01/1961 to 02/1968. Complete - with the exception of issue 02/1962.

Is there anybody who knows if this issue exists? On this sister site

http://vintagedrumguide.com/my_collection_ludwig_drummer.html

you see every cover - but not the issue 02/1962.

So I wonder if I am through with my collection or if I have to keep on hunting for the missing magazine...

Thanks for answers

Martin

There was no Volume 2 No. 2 . Volume 2 No. 1 was listed as the Fall '62 Issue. Volume 3 No. 1 is listed as Spring 63 issue. There was not one in between. These early issues were put out twice a year, fall and spring from what I have been able to gather.

Took me a while to complete mine as well. There is some info on new products in these that didn't show up anywhere else. Great stuff.

I agree Mike. While I don't have every issue, I think they are a great wealth of info for new products. They aren't always accurate but they can sure be helpful.

A good example is the spring 1968 issue. They have an ad in that issue talking about two new colors(psych red and mod orange) that are brand new. In reality psych red and mod orange probably first appeared around June of 1967 as far as I can tell from my research of those colors. Ironically both of those colors never showed up in a catalog until 1970!
