Great drum, BUT, how in the world does a drum get beat up like that? Car wreak? Bar fight? Moony impersonator? Just wondering.

I've always wondered how it got that beat up, I found it that way about 15 years ago. Maybe the guy wanted a "hand hammered" drum. As bad as it looks it doeas play nice.
If you do it carefully, you can eliminate 3/4 of the dents. There used to be two Gypsy's that hung out in the parking lot of a Home Depot in Queens, N.Y. These guys were artists with rubber mallets. They would charge people $25. to pound out dents in their vehicles. You couldn't tell there was ever a dent there after they got done with it. Those guys inspired me to try it out on metal drum shells. You'd be surprised how little effort it takes, and how nice the shells come out after (careful) de-bumping with a rubber mallet.
Congrats all around to buyer and to seller. Good deal for all.

How does one pound out a dent in the metal of a car with a rubber mallet? The dents I've seen had depth. Those usually had to be pulled out ... unless the metal item was removed from the vehicle and put on the bench so the underside could be accessed. Sounds like a very unique talent, for sure.

I don't agree with Confucius. I say, take a rubber mallet to them and beat them like a cheap set of drums! lol

You're answer makes no sense. So, the assumption is you don't know how they did it? I was asking a serious question (hard as that is to believe). If you are aware of the methods, that would be pretty cool.
As far as the other ... I've found it easier to pay another to do the dirty work.
