Welcome to VDF!

Congrats... I know from experience those are some great sounding tubs. I was just never able to warm up to butcher block for some reason. BB is the kind of finish you either love or hate. Not many in-betweeners. You will find some die-hard BB lovers here though, so you'll feel right at home. flower

Too many great drums to list here!

Lovely Kit.

Always been partial to the BB wrap. Just SO 70's.

I passed on a BB Script Badge Rogers Londoner with Swivo

hardware ( showroom new with tags ) @ Faust in MKE in '81...

Now I make due with my second hand Script Badge in the soon

to be highly prized Koa...

Thanks! I'm in the "love them" category...

I bought the snare in the picture from Faust Music in Milwaukee: the owner is quite a good salesmen, I came in for 6.5 supraphonic and he forced me into a Mapex custom 6.5 snare. He asked me what sound I wanted and he said that was the only snare he'd show me. And i bought it!

A really nice sounding snare but now with the 70's Ludwigs, I wish I had gone for the Supraphonic.

Ah, yes. That's my dear friend Bill.

I just spoke with him a few weeks ago. Haven't been by the

shop in many years, but still call to um, pay my repect from time

to time. At 87 years old he still remembers every kit, case, cymbal

or part I have ever purchased from him.

The intent was to schedule an interview for a feature article about

the business, the names, the memories.

I truly believe it is long overdue.

We chatted for near 45 minutes when I popped the question.

"Sean, all these people want the knowledge, this doesn't pay

the bills. I am a busy man, I have no time for that sort of thing. There's

a paying customer at the door, give your Dad and Mother my best."

But wait!

"If you're in town stop in, I'd like to see you and we can talk."

Hmmmm

When we lived in Los Angeles, Pop's always took me to Yeager's Pro

Drum in Hollywood. Upon our return to MKE it was always Faust.

Man, do I have stories...

Love / Hate, indeed.

I know that he likes me. Bermuda too.
