Ludwig Blue Oyster Pearl - info? Last viewed: 1 day ago

Loading...

I'm thinking of selling my 1976(?) Ludwig Classic Blue Oyster Pearl kit.

(22", 12", 13" & 16")

All serial #s are 109XXXX. These do have reinforcement rings, however which appears to contradict most of the Ludwig Serial # lists I have seen. They're also natural maple finish shells (internally), not coated.

No major issues other than some wrap separation (floor tom especially).

I see prices for these range all over the place.

What should I expect these to be worth?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

mlayton,

Thanks. I was just going by the serial #s and the listings that I have read...

The serial #s for my drums are:

t1 - 1096854

t2 - 1095806

ft - 1096827

bd - 1098799

Quality kit...matching numbers...needs a rewrap on the ft. I'd pay $1000-1200. The tough part is that floor tom is pretty ratchet. And to rewrap just the ft would be relatively painless, but it wouldn't match the fading and yellowing of the rest of the kit. Tough to tell by the pics if that would be a deal breaker.

Looks like the floor tom seam could be repaired, but it's my opinion any set in "bowling ball" blue oyster should be refinished.
