Hello All:

I have a Ludwig Black Beauty snare with a Blue and Olive pointed corner badge and a serial number of 1958280. Does anyone know what year this drum was manufactured and what the shell material might be (bronze or brass)?

With Ludwig you never know,but I believe the first reissues were from the late 70's maybe 1976/77 ish? I think the blue and olive badge were brass,you can look inside the shell and see if there is an ink stamp with a B.The next reissues in the 80's started as bronze shells I believe.The Luddy experts will be along to clarify/correct soon.
