Player special! This drum was a "rescue" which I bought a couple of years ago, cleaned up, and had wrapped in stunning turquoise glass glitter. The shell had been sprayed black inside/out and the hardware was a mess. I dismantled everything, cleaned, polished, reassembled. Every component works perfectly. This is a monster fatback drum for when you need some huge bottom end. I played this in my outlaw rock/country band and it received compliments. Selling only to fund my drum addiction!
EDIT: Will trade for flaking/pitted Supra assuming no extra holes. Other trades please pm with ideas.
For some reason, the image insertion isn't working for me, so here's a link to my photobucket album with several pics: http://s55.photobucket.com/user/trackthegreyhound/library/Mobile%20Uploads
The Good and Bad are as follows.
GOOD:
1) No extra holes!
2) Original 8 lug NOB hoops.
3) Original aluminum Leedy badge from the 30-48 era.
4) Lugs are all original to the drum with original mounting hardware.
5) Shell and rerings are solid and round.
6) Drum comes with a padded Humes & Berg Enduro case.
BAD:
1) Throw & buttplate are repros (work perfectly). Modern snare wires & heads are on the drum.
2) One tension rod is not original.
3) Badge refit with new brass (non original) grommet.
4) 3 lugs were flaking & blistering and received new nickel plating.
5) The thickness of the wrap required an edge trim back ala Gretsch style to fit modern heads.
6) The drum came without a muffler knob. I researched and bought a NOB muffler knob that *should* be period correct but is tiny and I worry about losing it, so I leave it off. I will include it with the drum.
Bob Rodriguez did all of the work on the wrap and edge trim. His work is excellent.
