Late 60s?early 70s Rogers? You decide

Loading...

Okay,

I am back with more questions... As mentioned earlier, I am new to this site and new to Rogers Drums. The only rebuilds I've done have been with Ludwigs. Anyway, I have acquired a mismatched Rogers kit, each drum from a different year (and one from a different series it appears). The guy that bought the drums built it as a player kit as he played all over the country.

Anyway, can anyone help me in identifying the year(s) and model of this kit? Photos of what it could look like would be helpful as well. Thanks for any help.

Floor tom is flat grey Dayton, some drums had flat gray int,but dayton era is when they started with the speckled interior, so that drum is 1967-1968,some people feel flat grey indicates first 6 months of dayton production. The fullerton drums are 1969 -1971 ,drums with fullerton tags that have 9/72 added to the tag are 1972 - 1976.Should clean up nice,if you have to aquire bd claws and t's plus swivo mounting arms and ft legs, that could run into some money.

Your

Fullerton Powertone drums are from 1971.

Dayton Holiday, Flat Gray Interior, 1967, nearing the end of the Flat Gray Dayton period.

These drums were married later in life and did not originate as a set.

Five ply MPMPM shells.

Thank you for your help. The guy who assembled this kit back in the early 70s was not going for vintage value but playability.

I do have BD claws, Swivo tom mount and cymbal mount, and Swivo kick pedal with this, however, half the BD claws are not Rogers. Also, BD hoops do not appear to be original at all.

Ploughman, I can't thank you enough for the photo. I was actually wanting to wrap these in Blue Sparkle. This helps my limited imagination a lot. One more quesiton though, would those swan Legged stands be period appropriate for this kit of mine? What about hi hat stand and snare stand?

Thanks again.
