Did they make 22" bass drums in both 8(16) and 10(20) lug configurations?

if they did which is more likely?

Hey Stedi you are correct on all the pictures from the 73 catalog the 22" bass drums are 8 lug. Is a 10 lug 22 normal?

Also when checking out the catalog the cover page has a set in the Stradivarius color that looks a lot like the set I bought. Do you guys think the color is walnut or Stradivarius?

Haven't been able to take any pictures of my own yet but here are a few of the add that I have.

I can’t remember ever seeing a 10-lug 22” Camco bass drum.

Other members might chime in with more input on that.

They’re more anomalies with Camco drums. Who knows, it might have been a special order.

The color on the Natural Camco finishes have been discussed a couple of times on the forum. It’s always hard to tell from pictures but yours look like walnut to me. Walnut and Natural Maple are the most common finishes. Stradivarius and Ebony are quite scarce. Stradivarius should have a much redder shade to it.

J. Ferraro is really doing honor to those Camcos.

Great sounding and superb drumming on these Boz Scaggs tunes.

DRUMR69, you have a wonderful and unique set of drums and in the most pristine condition I’ve seen.

A lot of drummers and vintage collectors should be very jealous.

By the way, hold on to those mufflers, they’re worth their weight in gold.

Like Slingalud said, during the LA period, Camco seemed to have been open for individual requests. Ludwig, Slingerland, Rogers,... were doing 10-lug 22” bass drums so why wouldn’t Camco do one,...
