Jeff, The color is black someone re-moved the plastic and painted it black.The drum is a 16x16 with 8 lugs per a side the lugs are the small ones that you see on their drums.The shellis 3 ply.Oh another thing the floor and mounts are made by W&A...Mikey

Well that sort of makes a $75 drum into a $30 drum-It's now a core for a recover job.

As far as the "rarity" of Kent floor toms is concerned,I never used the word rare-I said not common.Many more Kent sets I have run across had MIJ floor toms than real Kents.I bought a 12-14-14 snare-20 set for my daughter specifically because it had its floor tom.

Regardless of how good or bad they are,I like Kent drums.My first set was a BDP 12/14 snare,20 with no floor tom.My grandfather converted a 12X14 Ludwig marching drum into a floor tom,wood hoops and all.:D
