I picked up a Kent kit that someone had glued carpet over the wrap about 30 years ago ...

Ive managed to finish the snare... thought Id share with you guys.

talk about saving one! wow. great job on what had to have been a ton of work. i don't recall seeing that kent wrap before. i thnk the carpet preserved it most likely.

wonder how many joints had been smoked prior to the shag carpet idea???

Wow - I've never seen that - the carpeting....kind of a mute-thing.....but I don't know if I like the carpeting haha.

I have a 9x13 Kent tom in Silver (looks Ginger-like) - with the blue foil badge. I use it with my late 50's Gretsch kit sometimes.

I like your snare - very nice job - beautiful.

Bravo! great job! Did you know what was under the carpet? What a pleasent surprize to find such a cool wrap. Just when you think you have seen everything, carpet,,wow.
