Just picked up an Atlas Classic Flat Stand, any questions? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hey guys,

My craigslist find set came with a very nice, must be 20lb, Pearl boom stand (maybe a 1" main tube, HUGE), and a horrible CB percussion boom stand, but came with three cymbals. So, have been staring at my unused 16" 60's Zildjian crash since November....

Was going to buy 1400 series, but it is pretty hard to find one that is reasonably priced and in decent condition...

So even though it is crazy expensive, decided to give the Atlas Classic a shot. Mine was $83 shipped from MF. VERY impressed, the clamps and tilter thing (sorry, guitarist) are very very well designed. Overall, the build quality and design quality "feel" like $80+.

I couldn't find many hands on reviews, so I figured I would post here and offer to help anyone who has any questions. I can take pics of specific parts if you need it too.

Sidebar, the screws in the clamps have a nice tip of the hat to vintage Ludwig milled into them. There is a little keystone shape on them.

Also, I haven't tried it yet, but for the purists that don't like the rubber feet on this series (I happen to love the idea of overlapping the legs), but it looks like the Gibraltar "large" floor tom feet might fit on these stands. I can try it if someone is interested.
