Red Onyx rescue/recover set. And 1959 Eagle Badge 5 piece.

Wildwoods are a wood veneer Rogers used for a year or 2, then CBS scrapped the idea, and trashed a ton of shells. Ouch. Color usually fades easily, but these were in cases for years, and stay that way at my "private secure location".

Didn't realize that red onyx had held on through the big 'R' sets. Very cool!

WOW! Those are amazing. That Dyna has to be pretty rare no? :) Interesting note on the veneer too I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing them.

Red Onyx was discontinued after the 1970 catalog. He did such a great job of rewrapping those, including the badges, they do look original.

It's absolutely wonderful to know that our beloved Rogers drums are alive and well! Regardless of American brand, it harkens us back to a time when our drums were made by a relatively small group of people, who, for the most part, loved what they were doing, and not on an assembly line somewhere in the orient!

It isn't often that you see a large "Swivomatic" set of drums much over 4 or 5 drums. This provided link is from the memorial service at "Brooks Berdan, LTD" in Monrovia, Ca, back in August, 2011. It's a high-end audio store with just the coolest stuff and nicest people. I'd been there quite a few times, but was not aware that the owner, Brooks Berdan, had passed away. When I clicked on the memorial link, I discovered a great picture of the band that played there... complete with a 9pc, double bass!, Rogers kit. The color appears to be New England White. Check out that 10x14 marching snare drum!
