Spied this one yesterday. I'm not familiar enough with the black/white badge era (early '80s?) to make a call here. The wrap is perfect on this snare. Almost too perfect, as the badge shows some age/use.
Anyone?
Thanks!

It's a re-wrapped snare drum! I'd say the wrap is either from Walopus or Jammin' Sam. If it was original, which it is not, the shell would be a 3-ply with rings and the badge would most likely be Blue/Olive. Where is this drum being offered and how is it being described?

Very good. Thanks for the replies. The drum is at my favorite used gear store in Greenville, SC. The owner was skeptical about it being legit, and I told him I'd reach out to the VDF community to get answers.
I wonder what the shell is from. It has maple in it for sure, but looks to be some other stuff in there too.
It should be 4-ply with a poplar core. It was likely the same drum as depicted the following ebay listing. Lugs were changed.
Those are some fantastic drums. I have several. Most likely 4 ply like mentioned. The 5x14s often had bowties lugs, but usually not on the 6.5 versions. It is USA Ludwig drum and not an import like some of the b/w badge models. That drum would look even nicer with a repro blue olive badge. You would have a replica Mod Orange Auditorium snare!

That drum would look mighty nice with my Element SE set (same version of Mod Orange wrap).
