Is this drum key rare or valuable? Last viewed: 15 hours ago

I've only seen one of these before. it was an eBay auction of a pre-1920 ludwig & Ludwig field drum years ago. does anyone know how rare these are? I like it enough to keep it but if its very valuable I'd think about selling it I suppose.

Have you checked out http://www.drumkeys.eu/ ?

He does a pretty good job of identifying drum keys.

I have one exactly like that - after I received it (a few years ago now) I was told it probably isn't a drum key - maybe for winding a clock or turning controls on a steam heat register. Still don't know for sure.

But I do see it at the link above.....so maybe it is a drum key after all.

Could be for a harp---I know they use keys that are almost the same as drum keys
