Hello all from New Orleans! I've been into vintage drums for a while and like to buy and sell mostly vintage snares. I currently am playing a set of 1967 black oyster ludwigs with an 18" bass drum. Love them! Will post pics later. I also have a set of ludwigs from the 80's that are replicas of the 60's sets. Not vintage but sure do sound good. The snare is a black diamond actually from the 60's with the baseball bat muffler so that's pretty cool. Hope to learn a thing or two from the forum since I'm a young guy and all this stuff was made way before my time!

Please post pix of this amazing kit so we can tell if it is indeed what I think it is.

Man, a '67 Jazzette? In Oyster Black Pearl? Those will be worth crazy money, even if Ringo never did play a Jazzette! Oh, by the way, Welcome! to your newest addiction, VDF and collecting and restoring and preserving vintage drums for the next generation. God knows they need us, look at the crap they play thinking they have the coolest drums on the planet, with bass drums stretching to over 30" in depth. How cool is that to load in your Prius, Insight, or CR-Z? But a Jazzette? Right in the back seat, and sounds like a small cannon!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
