A local used music center has an old Slingerland kit for 300 bucks.
It has the cloud badge on the bass drum and floor tom, the rack tom is 70's. It looks like the wrap has been removed, but having two cloud badge drums could be a great old kit project.
Any thoughts on these drums?
That's not a bad price for a players kit, the floor tom has gretsch floor tom leg mounts on it. try to get them down offer 200 see how that turns out. the original price isn't bad but cheaper is always better.
I think something is not original here. Never saw a cloud badge on a floor tom with vent hole either. Sound King lugs not right era either with cloud badge. Unless it's a much newer drum that had the badges changed. Yep like Mark said Gretsch FT legs. Those have different (longer) hole spacing than the Slingerland stuff. Muffler holes look right for the dual pad muffler. SOM mount was added. Bass drum seems ok but hard to tell. And the small tom a 70's you say. So some changes were made but if the price is right nice drums!
That set is kind of a mess. The floor tom should not have that badge. Someone must have added it for looks. I'm sure they sound good, though.
I was hoping that the Floor Tom and Bass Drum were a set, but I think they're too far gone.
