Information On The Chicago Drum Show? Last viewed: 2 days ago

Loading...

Having missed being in the Windy for the Chicago Drum Show by 24 hours last year, I may make a dedicated trip over this year just to attend the show and to check out some stores.

Is the show more of an exhibition or are there a large amount of vintage drums, kits, cymbals etc for sale as well?

If there is vintage gear for sale, is it all top $?

It would naturally cost a lot for me to come from the UK, so I'd like to find something nice to add to the collection. :)

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

It used to have a lot more of a "Flea Market" atmosphere to it with lots of tables full of vintage parts and piles of old drums. That gradually slipped away over the past 10-15 years. It's actually gotten bigger without that stuff. Still lots to see and plenty to buy if you have the dough. It's moving to an all new venue that's a bit closer to Chicago this year (the previous venue was actually about 40 miles outside of Chicago)so it will be an all new experience for everyone.

Too much new stuff. Not enough vintage stuff. Not enough vintage parts. Clinics are awesome.
