Impact High Performance Drum Kit Last viewed: 3 days ago

Hey all,

Just picked up this kit and thought that I would share as I have never seen these kits or even heard of them until now. Make in Wisconsin and reminds me of the North Drums but not as technical. Just cleaned them up missing the high hat and drum pedal and will need a floor tom leg as one was missing. Really cleaned up well and consider them 8 of 10 condition. Added new pinstripes and sounds really good. Can't wait to mic them and see how they record.

Just something new to post and hope that you enjoy looking at them.

Have a Merry Christmas to all you drummers and smackers of all percussion

Thanks Mikey,

Not too much information on these sets. From what I gather there were 3 companies with the Impact name. Wisconsin company made these drums that I have and now only makes cases. I heard that Canada did have a company that made drums but cannot confirm. The other I heard was from Oregon??? but cannot confirm as well.

Unique and glad that I have them.

The Canadian company was called Staccato...They were similar to North drums...

I though Staccato was Italian?...Theres a guy around my area trying to unload a set of these Impact for almost like a year now...He wants $300.00 or so. Its a red set. I cant recall if includes the snare. If someone is interested I can help finding the guy and shipping the set. Now Im not sure but I think that Bermuda had someting to do with this brand in the past...

You are most likely right Vinny...I know that they were available in Canada at one time...I may have confused this with thinking that they were also manufactured here as well...My bad!!

Cheers

Dave,

Was this the kit being sold by the Pawn Shop on Van Dyke Avenue in Sterling Heights, MI? Just wondering.

You can find info on them by perusing some archives of Modern Drummer Magazine. The drummer for Weird Al Jankovic played and endorsed them. Constructed of molded fiberglass and received many favorable reviews. I've always wanted to have a set. Unless I'm mistaken they were Wisconsin based.

We'll have to ask Bermuda next time he's here.

Hi Old School,

Yes, the pawn shop ran an ad for a cheap drum set. So, I went to the store made him an offer that he could not refuse (LOL) and sold the set too me. Did you stop and see the kit or did you also see the ad.
