I have a customer who is looking to sell this set of orchestra bells but has no idea what they are worth. He did some searching and has checked with other shops and I have done some searching as well and can't seem to find any information on the maker of the bells or any other for sale anywhere to give him a ball park figure. Anyone else ever seen these and know what the approximate retail would be on a used set??

Decater was formerly Jenco.

For vibes, I believe Jenco was the cheaper, (not as good) brand as compared to Deagen and Musser.

Deagen and Musser, 2 1/2 octaves are going from $700-$1,000.

Not sure about the Decater.

These are orchestra bells, not vibes. Would $75.00 - $100.00 be reasonable?

These turn up at the Goodwill site regularly... they can't seem to give them away much less find buyers at any price. $75 would be right for some high-schooler that needs them for band. Otherwise, not much market for them. A student would be your best prospect for a buyer.

Too many great drums to list here!

That would be MIDDLE schooler, John. Typically students are required to show a moderate level of proficiency one the bells before they can graduate to something more 'cool' like snare drum! I believe it is to instill them an appreciation and perspective of non-rhythm oriented instruments - like understanding keys and notes and basic melodic theory.

Anyhow - yeah, $75 is about right. Sometimes those kits include a piccolo snare in addition to the bells, but they tend to go for a bit more. Hopefully they have a pad and perhaps even some sticks or basic instruction book. The more complete the better of course. That would get it closer to 100.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!
