Saw this at a drum shop today for 149.00

What's wrong with this kit? And what's it worth as is?

It's a no badge possible re wrap?? Also the kick hardware, is it correct?

I see the Tom mount is obviously the wrong date. Possibly the Tom

And floor Tom aren't a ludwig?

I think that is a Slingerland bass drum as well with some WFL claws and T rods. The tom seems to be a slingerland but has ludwig rims. The floor tom seems to be slingerland with rogers lugs on the bottom, ludwig rims and ludwig leg mounts. This is all what Im seeing and may not be 100% accurate. Stand by!

I think it's a frankenstein kit wrapped and painted to match. Has ludwig, slingerland, mij?, rogers, wfl parts etc. The only thing club date resembling is the bass drum with it's lugs in the center and long t-rods.

For $149, how do they sound? If they sound great, that is a deal!

It's a mess of a kit, but for $149 it might be pretty cool. Note the mounted Tom has gaskets under the lugs and, what appears to be a Gibralter tom mount which are recent improvements.

It would be interesting to see what kind of shells those might be.

The top lugs on the floor tom are made by Pearl - found on Whitehall kits. The bottom lugs obviously appear to be Rogers, but may indeed be MIJ/stencil. Tama had lugs like that too (Tama/Star?)

It's a who's who as far as the lugs go!

Bottom line is the shells. If they are Luddy shells (like I see the BD IS) then it is a no-brainer. It will end up as a player, not possible to be a collector grade kit anymore.....we all need players kits to play out with! You like the red sparkle?? If so, and they are Luddy shells...you are in business!

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

it sounded really good besides the horrible way it was tuned.. The kicks lugs are annoying though because you adjust one head and at the same time the other is adjusted.. you can't do the batter loose and the reso tight..

also the tom tom sounded killer. the edges all looked good at a quick glance.. wish i didn't have so many kits and such little space..

thanks for the intricate post! so you're saying the kick is a luddy? that would make sense to me because why would they go thru the trouble of adding club date lugs to a normal-traditional lug kick? especially if its not matching the other toms..
