What kind of wood were 70s-era Stewart snares made of and how many ply is it?

Luan (or lauan) Mahogany shells, probably 5 to 7 ply without seeing the side of the drum.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....
