This morning on CL there was a 1952 RK in mint condition for $259. I think I was the first caller. The girl I talked to said it was her boyfriends drum and he would be available in an hour. I left my ph.#. I called back in an hour and had to leave a message. I called again and the message box was full. I'm assuming that there were so many calls that they are reconsidering the price. They have not called me back. Damn! I could already see that beauty on my shelf. I hate it when stuff like this happens. I would have rather not seen the ad than get all excited only to be bummed.DOH
I hate it when...
Now Tommy, calm down, have another glass of metamucil. You'll feel better after your nap.
Oh by the way, that RK looks great in my basement band3
or it would if the damn guy would answer my call. DOH
Bummer man...... it's happened to me a couple of times too.
Even on this forum, although extremely rarely, and just from hit and run type folks.
Hang in there Tom.....I called a year ago on a Sunday of a Memorial Day weekend for a Ludwig kit for $250.00 with cymbals. I left my number and they called me back on the following Wednesday and said that I was the first person live person they talked to live and it was still available.....I got it.
Side note: Are you looking for the kit or snare?

A nice WMP5x14 near mint RK snare.
Hang in there buddy. It is things like this why cl is a pain in the ass. This type situation has happened to me many times. It's how the ball bounces sometimes.
I Guess I've been at this so long,It's rolls off me now like water on a ducks back, I don't count my chickens until I'm holding it in my hot little hands! I recently went after a ludwig galaxy 6 1/2x14" snare drum, the seller and I set up a time to meet, I rearranged my work schedule to me this Idiot, he calls 3 days later and wants to know if I still want it, I told him sure, you bring it to me and I'll pay $25.00 for it can you believe it I've never heard from him again???Excited
Re-listed today at $359. Still a good deal, but more than I want to pay for a drum I don't need.
The saga continues; Yesterday I got an email from the girl I talked to at first. "Call asap." I did and left another message. She called me later and sounded real screwed up. Couldn't remember what the price was, said someone was bringing it over so I could buy it. I told her I would get back to her, as I was not feeling good about the way this was going. She called a couple hours later and asked if I was almost there yet. Still sounded screwed up. At this point I told her I was going to pass. Too many red flags for me. If any one (George) in the Seattle area wants to have a go, help yourself but don't go alone to make the deal. Something stinks here.
