Hi all. Lately I've been more into UK drums, but I've got a chance to score this Holiday + Dynasonic for a decent price (a private offline sale). Before I make a final move, I thought I'd submit the kit to the wisdom of the community in case anyone spots anything strange.

Here are my concerns:

1. Is the wrap is original? One drum-geek friend feels the seems are too tight and the grommets too perfect. The owner bought the kit without being concerned about the wrap/re-wrap, so he can't confirm one way or the other.

2. Regarding the Dyna, my guess is it's from '67. Notice how the D-stamp in on black, not chrome. Somehow my gut tells me it's an early 5-liner, but I may be wrong. Not sure about hoops and other parts. All comments welcome!

3. Notice how the "Knobby" cymbal holder is mounted to the drummer's left. My guess is this was a custom order following the Buddy Rich splash trend?

4. The Rogers badge on the rack tom is mounted for a 12-13-16 config. That is, it faces the drummer when used in a tradition 13-16 config.

5. One kick hoop is cracked. Not a biggie.

6. Serials more-or-less line up as '64-'65: Floor Cleveland 49304, 13" rack Cleveland 42324, Kick Cleveland 40049.

Any thoughts or "warning signs"? Thanks in advance. I'm only asking since I'm not a Rogers expert. Rogers fan, but no expert. (I know there is a Rogers forum, but I did not want to register just to make one post. Hopefully some of the same folks are here.)

That 'D' on the black: that part must have been painted by someone, they never came that way.

The edges and interiors look ok. The wrap is original. Rogers quality was top notch, especially in that period, so tight seams and solid wrap are not unusual after all this time. The year of that kit is probably 1964, but the snare is later, maybe 1969, I can't make out the serial number.

That knobby for the cymbal arm was probably added by the dealer or an owner along the way.

Thanks for the help so far.

I'll try to attach some shots. Just a tiny sample compared to what's in Cubby, which is a service like Dropbox -- some companies may block it due to abuse by bad guys. Sorry for the trouble with that, but it's a reliable service. I should know since I work for the company that makes it :-).

Will confirm with the owner, but looks like 4xxx. Note I am buying long distance. I have not seen the kit in person.

One way to check that the warp is original, good idea to check the interior nails on the badges. They should be bent over and slightly indented into the wood. Replacement from rewrapping very RARELY get bent over into the original indentations.
