I have a late 60's Rogers hi hat which is gunked up. i.e. slow action in the springs department. Its not looking easy to take apart and clean it out. Any suggestions for disassembly and repair would be most appreciated! Thanks.

Yup..
Stand it. Up in a bin full of oil...over nite...(remove the pedal assemble)
Otherwise...it's mainly the spring inside at the both you'll need...
Also try turning it upside dwn...there's a tensioning rod underneath that can be adjusted...
Thanks a lot. Would a typical motor oil work OK?

I'm assuming the t-rod head in the underside? Cool! I just finished cleaning a swivo hi hat stand today and didn't notice that. Thanks Rims!
Came across it a few yrs back...
And thought..mmmmm what does this do...
So like any guy ...I turned the screw...! :)~
Great and thanks again, also for the tip on the tension rod adjustment.
