As this is a painted exterior not a wrap just get a roger 22" hoop and color match touch up paint and you could make them look factory fresh the tom included.
Help with Rogers kit Last viewed: 5 hours ago
VERY clean finish! If the shells are in round then any problems with the edges can be corrected for cheap.I've had a few professionally recut to be useable.Heck, I have a 14 Fullerton tom that had a snare bed cut on only ONE SIDE and passed along all these years! (hey, why cant I tune this drum???) Fullertons were meant to be played! Clevelands are pampered and then stored in dark closets cause that's where they belong.
I'm by no means an expert on these but having had a kit from this era recently I can echo Rim's advice on checking that the swivo collet noses work and tighten properly and also check for tiny cracks in the ends of them. These later collets I learned are not as strong as the earlier ones (cast Vs. machined) and start to split from over tightening. You've mentioned one BD spur collet stripping so check that the others aren't on their way out.
Very nice kit though
My rogers were 600 so about 650 with tax. 20" kick dayton, 16" floor fullerton, 12 & 13 toms fullerton and then I got a mint powertone snare dayton for 150.
Now theres a crack in the wrap of the kick drum, some dolt carved his name in the mounts and all the tone controls are missing.... so I'd value the whole kit with the snare included for $7-800....
Your kit looks to be in great shape so Id say around the same. But I see rogers kits go on ebay for a grand min.
Drums with 9/72 tags were made from late 1972 thru 1975 when the Big R/Memriloc drums were introduced.
Spanish Gold is a wrap, not a painted finish. 22" Rogers hoops are not hard to find, but a Spanish Gold inlay will be tough-to-near-impossible to locate.
$600 would be a very good deal for that set. Fixing the seam lift is a piece of cake using crazy glue and a couple strips of masking tape.
A trip to Home Depot with a one of the drums or a hoop will allow them to color match. You can buy a small 'sample' can of paint for a few bucks. You can then get any color inlay and paint it to match.
Repro steel collet noses are $30 and bulletproof, and you probably only need a couple of them.
Thanks so much for the continued replies and suggestions. I don't really have the room for yet another kit, but I record a lot of music, and these things really sound great. I could set these up in my studio, and put another kit in a bedroom just for display. I'd like for it to authentic; are Swivo-matic stands expensive?
Thanks again.
That's a beautiful drum set. If you can afford it go for it. Love that color and it looks like it was well taken care of. Damn, now I want one.
Is that a Natural Maple Ludwig kit next to it in the shop?
What are they asking for that? Is it a three ply kit?
Take a shot of that if you can.

I'll check and see and take pics.
Took another look at the kit, and gave the guy the 3rd degree. The drums are in the round, as he put new Evans heads on them (not 360s). The paper tags are all small and say 9/72, but they're in order. One bass drum spur holder is stripped out. How easy would it be to find one? He'll fix the seam peeling at no extra cost. The front hoop is a Mapex; again how easy would it be to find one (I know it would have to be painted on the inlay)? He's checked the bearing edges, and they're all at 45 degrees. The FT is indeed a 16". Despite its faults $600 seems a good deal for drums that sound this good.Thanks.
I have Rogers spanish gold inlay for a 22" hoop you can have it for the cost of shipping. I also have a 60 degree collet with a machined collet nose (better quality than cast style) you can have for $35.
