Help with Ludwig marching snare.

From billnvick

Good looking drum! It's of course yours, but please keep it as is and don't modify it! I traded a Supraphonic SD to another VDF member some time back because he was thinking of converting on old marching drum to a FT, and I just couldn't see him doing that to the drum he had! So we made a deal and met half-way. He was thrilled and so was I!Anyway, as most of what I own, it ended up being for sale and it sold to a buyer on eBay at what I thought was a fair price -- and to my horror the buyer broke it down and parted it out on eBay!Bill

That was me, yes that drum is original, large Mach Lugs etc. Its a KILLER snare drum.

My heart was broken when Bill sent me the link to "Bertha's" shell on the bay.

She was a GREAT drum...but I looove the Supra I got for her.

Sounds like you got a killer deal Shawn

You say the drum had a nice sound to it?

Haven't been able to hear what this snare sounds like yet because having a hard time getting wires for it.

Thinking of cleaning it up and hoping I find one.

I'm with most on here for not parting out but did really pickup cheap and was going to put the throw on another supra I have and use it as a floor Tom if all else fails.

That drum had a HUGE sound to it, perfect for outdoor gigs.

That's actually the reason I stopped playing it as a snare on my kit, just too damn loud even when playing it quietly.

Im very happy with the deal I worked with Bill.
