Now that you mention it I have seen a few auctions do the same thing. And then re appear with what seems a lot more time on the clock. 1-2 days in some cases. At first I thought it was just me being mistaken but I've seen it a few times. I don't buy or sell on EB but look there often and follow prices pretty closely on some things I'm in the market for. I thought maybe there were issues with the listings and put on hold. Then go back on once sorted out instead of just ending and losing bidders? Strange.
help with ebay?? Last viewed: 7 hours ago
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Wow 55wfl !
You have to wonder why on earth someone would even bother going to the trouble of trying to sell something again - just for a few bucks. Some folks are pretty desperate or not thinking things through....or....as you...say, just greedy.
sometimes items don't show up when you go looking for them. it has happened once or twice to me and then they are there later. unfortunately, that's the least of ebay's problems.
How about this one...I just input a search for "Camco", under "Musical Instruments & accessories", through the link to ebay from this thread and 47 items popped up. When I go to my eBay account, 90 items pop up under the same search parameters...
It's unusual for ebay to suspend sellers. ----that is a pretty blatant violation ,though. There are routine, lesser violations , that go unchecked. I have contacted them several times about really bad behaviour;(deceptive pictures, excessive shipping, abusive contact, no contact, unshipped items, auctions being cancelled because the item was no longer available but then showing up later....on and on) and reached up into the ranks in the organization for answers and the answers ,after about an hour of discussion I got, were "thank you for your comments" and " we are considering implementing changes, some of which relate to your complaints"----no changes have taken place------that was a year ago.
As to whether there is a disproportionate treatment of sellers as opposed to buyers. The answer is yes and yes again. If a seller , sends a damaged product or not as described product , it is up to the seller to compensate . The so-called buyer protection doesn't pay return shipping on items and that can be pretty hefty , especially across borders.-----so on a snare drum, the buyer is out 50.00 or so on shipping, if you decide to return it. If the seller decides to jack up the shipping because he /she didn't get what they wanted( as happened to me recently--listing said 27, seller charged 50) , all it takes is to get 2 unpaid item strikes and you can get hoofed. According to the manager I discussed this with, ebay monitors sellers behaviour and complaints against them and if there are repeated violations , they "could" be suspended. Ebay doesn't contact sellers who are falsifying shipping tabs and tell them to smarten up. Ebay lines the pockets of those that butter their bread. They are under the impression that the buyers will always be there but the sellers pay the percentage. If you have sold 2,000 items and choose to fleece another 25.00 out of a buyer for shipping , the buyer can do nothing about it. Any honourable business states shipping and handling fees up front and adheres to them. On ebay, shipping is considered an add on profit and "handling fees" are often hidden behind a cloak of mystery. Ebay refuses to address these issues because they are profiting heavily by keeping mum.
