That wrap is magnificent!!!
The sizes!?! Talk about a special order!
Very nice. Super awesome kit!
I bought a kit and this came with it. Copper, no badge, 6 lug 14x5. Any ideas? Brand, etc.

I don't think that set is from '71. That version on Psych red came out in -'74 or '75.

That's what I thought! Were non-serial B+O badged drums considered B-stock or something by that point? Or did some genius Ludwig employee just forget to stamp them?
Or are they a re-wrapped kit from 71? SO many questions...
I'm thinking if all the badges are none serial..& match..!
then the wrap was most likely rewrapped..!

I don't think that wrap was ever available aftermarket. There were much later aftermarket versions of psych red, but they didn't look anything like those from the OP.
My buddy got a pysch red set in '72/73 and it looked like the regular psych red. He ordered a set of concert toms a couple of years later and they were that darker version.
So, I'm getting anywhere from 1970 to 1975. That's close enough. My era, graduated high school in '71 and college in '75. A fairly rare wrap, cool. I have a couple other Ludwig 24" BD (stainless steel and 6 ply) and I love the big sound. I'm going to play this kit in my classic rock band with just one 14" tom. A kit in 24", 14", 20", they will know I'm there. We cover Bun's The Flame and I will do it justice with that kit. Thanks to everybody for your help.
