Help Identifying Snare Drum Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Hello, I am new to this site, but it seems great!!!

I picked up this snare drum at a garage sale for 50 bucks. It looked like supraphonic and is a ludwig which is why i bought it. It sounds great. The serial numbers on the badge are3399109 and it says 021634 on the inside shell... Im thinking it is made out of bras or bronze but I have no idea, just basing that off of some of the pics I saw on the catalogs on here. Any help is much appreciated!!!! Thanks!!!

Wow, a Supra for 50 bucks!! These things never happen to me. I don't think it's brass. Probably Ludalloy (aluminum) Are you sure that number inside isn't 021684?

Yeah..looks like the LB 550 bronze shell..You can't date the drum with serial numbers on the Monroe N.C. keystone badge.

GG Vintage- Its really hard to read on the inside that might be it. Im cant really tell haha.

Tama Drum- Do you think thats what it is? Thats what my best guess was based off of the pics on the catalogues.

I'm pretty sure that's the model.A brass shell would be more of a yellow color.

Why sell it?The're great drums and you WILL kick yourself later.If you really positivley need to know its worth,In very good condition nearly ten times what you paid for it.They sell for just a little less that same vintage Black Beaitys.

Check Ebay COMPLETED auctions to get an accurate Idea of current market values.

KEEP the drum....really.

I believe new ones would be in the vicinity of $650 - $700, but it is complicated by the vagaries of list price vs street price vs minimum price you are allowed to advertise if you are a dealer. So a quick rule of thumb would be a used price of half: $300 plus. Let's just say a very fine $50 drum.
