Help Identifying Pearl Kit Last viewed: 1 day ago

Hi,

I'm just looking on local ads at this kit, very little information is given and I have asked the seller, but they don't seem to know. I'm looking for an interesting old(ish) kit for not too much money, or maybe a jazz kit, though I don;t think this is those sizes.

The price asked is $300. I'm wondering if it's just an 80s Maxwin kit, which I've had before and would expect to cost more like $100, especially with limited hardware, which this has, or if it's something more interesting.

So, I'm just wondering if any of you can tell me what it is, and any comments on quality, value, or what it might play like!

New to this, so will see if I can post the picture!

OH, prices are AUD, but close enough to USD, so you get the idea

Thanks a lot

Looks like an old CB-700 or Maxwin set with the wrap pulled off . No more than $150 in my opinion .

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..

ok, thanks. I think the one I had was 80s, it was ok for a cheap kit, but I wouldn't pay $300 for it. Do you think this one'd be the same kind of era, or are there 70s ones about and are they any different?

I have never seen a stencil with the large hex-rod mounts. Certain things on this set don't add up. Retracting spurs for starters. I have seen entry-level Pearl badged sets with this type of configuration. That is what I'm thinking this set is. Luan plies, 8-lug bass with retracting as opposed to swivel spurs.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'stencil'
