help identifying ludwig model Last viewed: 4 hours ago

The serial numbers are 755XXX.

The rack toms are 9x13 and 10x14, the floor tom is 16x16, the bass drum is 14x24.

It's got the B/O pointy badge, and the wrap is black oyster pearl.

Sorry, I don't have any pics, but they look very similar to these(minus the biggest and smallest tom):

Anyone have an idea which year and model they might be?

Thanks.

The serial number traces to around 1969. If it's a B/O badge, then it's later in the year.

The drums should have clear maple interiors.

The finish is called Oyster Black Pearl and the version in that photo is the later "bowling ball" form of that finish.

There is no named/cataloged configuration in the sizes you list. It's likely part of a larger set or it was custom-ordered by a customer in 24/13/14/16.

I can't tell you anything else until I see detailed pictures of the exact set we're talking about.

I have a similar kit but it's from the mid 70's all the same size exept for the floor tom,

mine is 18"x16"

The drums (mine) are Pro-beat series

Also the bop wrap on my drums is different, maybe the third generations? i dont know...

your wrap looks to be in betwen the ringo wrap and the one on my drums.

Would like to see a clear pics of the bearing edges if possible,

they are round are they?

Yes, they look like Pro-Beat sizes, but I've only got one floor tom. The set may have been broken up.

I'm not sure what to make of the serial number using this guide - http://www.ludwig-drums.com/features/hoamld/serialnumbers.php

1970?

I haven't looked at the bearing edges. I'll take a photo next time I'm at the studio.
