Hello Vintage Drum Forum! Last viewed: 1 day ago

Hi All:

Just joined today. I have a 73 (possibly 74) WMP Rogers StarLighter IV and I'm slowly it bringing up back to gigging shape. Need new BD hoops. Any idea where I can get these? Just scored a 60s WMP snare off ebay. A long time ago, the young naive owner (me) didn't know what he had, and fitted the bass drum with a t-type tom holder to hold 2 toms. Thats right, I drilled holes in perfectly good vintage (not at the time) drums. The old girl still sounds great tho, and before you send out a hit squad, I'd like to know how many Rogers enthusiasts are here. I promise not to do any more damage!

Cheers all!

Welcome to the club! I dont know much about Rogers but you will get your answers here. Everyone has done things to drums when they were young that they wish they did not have done so like I say,,, welcome to the club (VDF).

Glad to have you on board!

Thank you!

Rogers fan here played them for 40 years IMO the very best of the best and their swivo hardware is still my favorite.. but I play a supra snare and speed king pedals welcomeWelcomeWelcome on this board if you do not have pictures it does not exist so lets see these drums and i am pretty sure the correct hardware can be found here to get your kit back to original...

Hey! It's a pleasure and welcome to the insanity!

Oh yeah... well, don't beat yourself up too much. Back in the day, we 'improved' many drums, just like you did. Honestly, back then, it was an improvement. I still remember how the rack tom used to dance around on a buddy of mines rail bracket. It wasn't long after that he had done the same thing to a '66 WMP Ludwig kit. He still has that kit BTW.

Yep, as Jeff said, the Rogers guys will be around. Do take some pictures of your kit, even while it's being restored. We all drool over pictures. You just don't know how many keyboards I've ruined...
