Hello!!!

Some of you might remember me from years ago. I kinda got out of the social media stuff for a while. But I been looking through the threads here and I'm having a good time. God knows it's better than reading the news. I'm still drumming. Have not restored any drums for several years but I did manage to keep the good ones.about a year ago a decided to go back to traditional grip. I started with that but some point I went matched. Probably when I got Mt first LedZepplin record. Anyway imreally liking the traditional grip now. Just wanted to say hi.

I've been checking in here once in a while myself, so it's good to see a few familiar people cracking the door open, too.

I play tradional grip when I play jazz, as that is the only way I played jazz back in the ol' school days.  It is the only way I can play a half decent closed-stroke roll (okay, 1/4 decent - my rolls suck!).  But then again, I am a walking, talking anomaly:

I play a '68 Club Date in a jazz quartet, I play somewhat modern drums (Taye) in a classic rock/blues band, and Roland e-drums in a soft rock trio.

Hello to you guys.  Maybe we can get VDF back in the fast lane...or at least off the bike path!
