I bought a set of toms a 8" and a 10' with stand from a fellow drummer friend. he also sold me a Rodgers Dynosonic (1975 vintage) I got the hole works for three hundred dollars. The toms he was asking 200.00 for, the Rodgers I got for a hundred.

Guess my question is what quailty of drums are these, low level or upper level drums? the guy I bought them from said he paid 250.00 for the toms a few years ago and they where new when he bought them.

any help would be great.

Never heard of them before, but I'm sure they are the lowest of the low. China is not really known for quality anything....well, except maybe food....Falling Do

Starion is a bottom dollar entry level brand. Drum-shaped toys. Same market segment as Groove Percussion, Union, CB, etc. You WAY overpaid on those toms.

On the other hand, if it's in decent shape and all the parts are there, you robbed him blind on the Rogers Dynasonic.

I was at a guitar center and had the clerk from the drum shop look up this brand and all he could find is a 8 pcs. double bass kit. No price just a stupid pix. no help at all. that's all I can tell you about them, oh they have a wood shellLaughing H

I'm waiting for my Aquarion High Freq. heads to come in I have Aquarion Studio-X coated heads with Evans resonet heads on the small toms and they don't sound right. Think that thin head will help.(have them on my other toms with the Studio -X's) then I can tune them loose. The Evans head doesn't work well loose!! I tried it, the bottom head has to be fairly tight or they sound like crap. think the head is to thick to run loose. the high freq are only 2 mils thick and you can run them at about 3/4 of a turn past finger tight, then they rumble. lots of tone and resonet sound with this combo, Studio-X's and High Freq's (Aquarion)

Yeah the rodgers was all I really wanted.I feel the rodgers is worth anywhere from 250. to 350. Ebay has them going for that price. The small toms are in very good shape for being low end type drums. The stand is about the same weight as my buddies pearl stand for his double tom. So I got a little of good and some bad. The Rodgers I'm in love with. have put my radio king in the closet. feel bad for it but that Rodgers just sings, oh buddy!!

OK, so look at it this way: You bought a Dyna for 300 and got a to take away some garbage cans for him. Actually, if you tune them up and they play, then use them. If you can't seem to get them to tune up, then send them to me and I'll use them for another donor kit. I have a request for a small kit to go to a church, so I will be needing anything anyone would like to share.

If the Dyna is complete, it is worth around 400 on ebay, average price.
