I've had my late 40's Radio Kings for close to 20 years (Mind Blowi)

One of the things I've always dug about them is the white rubber feet on the floor tom. They just always looked good to me in contrast with the (now greenish) black diamond pearl.

Up until today I never though to ask, did Slingerland put white feet on their floor tom legs?

Is this just bleached out black rubber?

Or is it a fashion statement made by a previous owner?

What say you VDF?

Also, while I'm at it, what can you recommend to bring the "Rubbery-ness" back to these things?

They're kind of dry and stiff....and no one wants that!

Go to any good drug store...

they should have them in white........

Were prolly black when new,wore out,so they threw them away,and bought these....

I think rubber is naturally white-ish. VERY old cars had truly white tires, bicycles too. Circa 1910.

Yep. white-"ISH" anyway.

Carbon Black is added to make them black (and it has other benefits to tires as well but I don't know what they are).:confused:

Thanks for the info!

It seems the hang up I am running in to now is size.

I've hit a few local hardware stores, pharmacies and online rubber companies. (It's probably not the best idea to Google "Rubber Tip"...at least not in work anyhow)

The legs are 1/4" wide & judging by the way the foot fits, it's inside diameter is also 1/4"

I'll let you guys know if I find anything that size, or even 7/32"....
